CESAR OVIDIO ALVAREZ
Cesar Ovidio Alvarez (b. 1968, Rionegro, Colombia) is a Colombian painter, based in Connecticut. His work is rooted in impressionism as a language. Using a variety of materials, Cesar works to layer the image to go beyond the surface of the canvas. Cesar is a graduate of Escuela de Bellas Artes in Medellin with studies at La Academia Nacional de Arte San Alejandro and at the Instituto Superior de Arte both in Havana, Cuba. Cesar moved to the United States in 1999. Cesar’s work has been published in The Greenwich Times, El Espactador Newspaper in Colombia, La Voz Hispana New Haven in 2017, His work has been featured on TeleEcuatoriana Internacional and Acuario Television in Colombia. From the 1980s to the 1990s Cesar was a member of the Rionegro municipality arts committee and worked with fellow artists to organize salons and exhibitions in painting and sculpture. Cesar is currently a member of the Greenwich Art Society and the Greenwich Arts Council in the United States. His work has been exhibited internationally including at The Colombian Consulate in New York city, Agora Gallery in Manhattan, and Art Revolution Taipei.

Cesar Ovidio Alvarez(Nacido. 1968, Rio Negro, Colombia) es un pintor Colombiano, establecido en Connecticut, Estados Unidos. Sus obras son ligadas al impresionismo. Usando una variedad de materiales, Cesar anexa dimensión a aquellas imágenes que no quiere limitar al lienzo. Cesar es graduado de la escuela de Bellas Artes en Medellín, Colombia y ha estudiado en La Academia Nacional de Arte San Alejandro y en el Instituto Superior de Arte ambos en la Habana, Cuba. Cesar se mudo a los Estados Unidos en 1999. La obra de Cesar se ha publicado en diversos medios incluyendo el Greenwich Times, el periódico Colombiano El Espectador, La Voz Hispana New Haven en el 2017, TeleEcuatoriana Internacional y en Acuario Televisión en Rionegro, Colombia. Cesar formó parte activa del Comité Municipal de Artes Plásticas en Rionegro, donde al lado de otros compañeros artistas realizaban periódicamente salones de arte y exposiciones de pintura y escultura. Cesar hace parte del Greenwich Art Society y del Greenwich Arts Council en Estados Unidos. Sus obras las han exhibido internacionalmente incluyendo en el Consulado General de Colombia en la ciudad de Nueva York, Agora Gallery en Manhattan y Art Revolution Taipei.
